Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Communities Coffs Harbour Libraries has several resources for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. This includes Gumbaynngirr language books that can be borrowed. Please ask our staff for help finding Aboriginal collection items.
Breastfeeding friendly All library locations are breastfeeding friendly. We do not have dedicated breastfeeding rooms, but you are welcome to nurse in the library. Baby change facilities are available, and we run early literacy programs for babies from 3 months.
LGBTQIA & communities Coffs Harbour Libraries are safe and welcoming spaces for LGBTQIA+ community members. We are part of ACON’s Welcome Here project, host inclusive events (including during Pride Month), and offer LGBTQI+ titles in our collection - look for the rainbow flag or search the catalogue.
Multicultural communities We support culturally and linguistically diverse communities with community language books for adults and children. If your language is not held, ask staff about requesting items through the State Library. This is a free service for library members.
Older people Find services and collections that make library visits easier for older people, including home library service, large print books, audiobooks and programs for seniors. Staff can help you get started with activities such as brain training and chair yoga.
People experiencing homelessness People experiencing homelessness or in temporary accommodation are welcome in our libraries during opening hours. Use collections, computers, printers and toilets, and join the library even without a permanent address. Please follow our expectations of behaviour and ask staff if you need support.
People living with mental health conditions If you are living with a mental health condition, you are welcome at our libraries. While staff are not mental health professionals, we can help you find information and direct you to local support services. Talk to staff if you would like assistance.
People with a disability We’re working to make our libraries easier to access for people with disability. Find access, parking and toilet information on each library location page, and explore accessible collections, digital resources and in-library equipment designed to support different needs.
