Come together and game on!

Enjoy a friendly morning of games at Harry Bailey Memorial Library! Starting with Scrabble in July, our sessions on the SECOND Wednesday of each month offer a chance to learn new games and enjoy old favourites. From 10:30am to 12pm, connect with others in a relaxed environment. No booking necessary—just bring your enthusiasm and join the fun!

Games morning is for all levels, from beginners up! Don't know how to play? We will teach you in a fun, supportive environment.

Tech Essentials

Learning technology doesn’t have to be confusing—or boring! Tech Essentials is a practical, hands-on program for adults and seniors, designed to help you feel comfortable and confident using your phone, tablet, and essential apps. 

Over six themes, you’ll learn simple skills that make everyday life easier, safer, and more enjoyable. Each theme runs for 4 weeks and includes friendly support, time to ask questions, and fun projects to try at home.

Sustainable Living Series

The Sustainable Living Series is designed to help you cultivate a thriving garden, nurture healthy soil, and deepen your connection to the environment. From composting and seed saving to permaculture and seasonal gardening, with 12 exciting workshops to choose from over a span of nine months, each session offers practical skills to support a more self-sufficient lifestyle.  

The Coffs Harbour Seed Library is a free resource available to the public and features organically grown seeds to help gardeners grow resilient plants suited to our climate.  


Spring Gardening

Spring is a time when gardeners can get lost in emerging growth and pests! In this workshop we will cover what the key activities are to undertake in spring to get your garden prepared for both summer and autumn.

Basic Pruning

In this session we will learn about basic pruning methods for your garden. We will cover what to prune, when and why. We will also look at basic gardening tools and equipment as well as how to sharpen them.

Summer Gardening

Gardening in the summertime in our climate can be hard! Come along to learn about the summer pests and diseases our gardens face and how to deal with them. We will also learn about nifty ways to make your summer garden thrive-in the heat and wet seasons we face. We will cover climate change forecasts and the impact upon your summer gardening.

Karla Gillies is a dedicated environmental scientist with over 30 years of experience in food and wildlife gardening, conservation, and community action. Karla has spent her life nurturing the environment and inspiring others to do the same. Her expertise ranges from creating thriving gardens that support local wildlife to leading conservation projects that protect precious ecosystems. 

Karla's passion for nature is infectious, and she loves sharing her knowledge with anyone eager to join her journey. Whether it's through community workshops, hands-on gardening sessions, or engaging talks, Karla's enthusiasm for the natural world shines through. She believes that by working together, we can all make a positive impact on our environment and community.
