Library Events & Programs Guidelines: Booking and Attendance

We want everyone to feel welcome, safe and comfortable when taking part in programs and events at Coffs Harbour Libraries. These guidelines help us create positive experiences for participants, families and staff, while making it clear what you can expect when booking and attending our programs. 

Before booking, please take a moment to read the guidelines below. They cover age requirements, supervision, late arrivals, cancellations and no-shows, waitlists, accessibility and photography. 

Guidelines

Age requirements: Program descriptions will indicate the intended or eligible age group where relevant. Please book tickets only for participants who meet the stated age requirements. Parents, carers or accompanying adults are responsible for supervising children unless otherwise stated. 

Children and supervision: Children under 8 years must be accompanied and actively supervised by a parent, carer or responsible adult at all times. For participants under 15 years, a parent or guardian must remain within the vicinity of the Library for the duration of the program. Library staff are not responsible for the supervision or primary care of children in Library spaces or programs unless explicitly stated in the program information. 

Late arrival: Your ticket reserves a place until the advertised program start time. Places may be offered to participants waiting without a booking from the advertised start time. Late entry cannot be guaranteed. 

Non-attendance/No-shows: If you are unable to attend a program, please cancel your booking via Eventbrite as soon as possible. Where a participant fails to attend 3 booked programs within a rolling 6-month period without cancelling or notifying the Library, the Library may cancel their future program bookings and refund any applicable prepaid bookings.  

Program cancellation by the Library: Coffs Harbour Libraries may cancel, postpone or change a program due to unforeseen circumstances. Where possible, registered participants will be notified via email of significant changes. 

Waitlists: If a program is fully booked, we encourage you to join the waitlist. If a place becomes available, waitlisted participants will be contacted via email and offered the place with up to 24 hours to accept before the place is offered to the next person on the waitlist. 

Accessibility: Coffs Harbour Libraries is committed to providing inclusive services and programs. Please note any support needs in the form or call 6648 4000 with your requirements or support needs. 

Photography: Attendance at our events may be digitally recorded through photographs and/or videos. These images may be used by City of Coffs Harbour in their publications, social media, website or newspaper. Please notify staff if you or your child do not wish to be photographed.
