Coffs Harbour Libraries had the privilege of hosting the 2022 Australian Poetry Slam which was held on Tuesday 30th August.
The 2021 Australian Poetry Slam Champion Huda the Goddess facilitated a workshop at the library the day before and performed live on the night to a very appreciative audience. We had nine amazing local performers enter the heat for a chance at becoming the 2022 champion. The richness of talent was awe-inspiring with performers from all backgrounds and cultures and ranging from 17 to over 80 years old. The themes were as diverse as the talent. Coffs Harbour Libraries would like to thank all the performers and audience who attended.
Congratulations to Jason John the winner and Alyson Robinson the runner up will be competing for the Championship in Sydney in October. We wish them the very best of luck!
