How do our Writing Groups Work?
Group Structure
Our self-led writing groups are designed to accommodate various genres and levels of experience. Each group (up to 10 members) meets twice a month in a structured environment that fosters writing, reviewing, and learning. Leadership within the group rotates, allowing different members to guide sessions and bring fresh perspectives. Groups follow a diverse range of program plans and activities to ensure each session is engaging, productive, and tailored to the needs of all participants.
Group Membership
Our groups are a supportive community where members are encouraged to share their work, collaborate, and participate in group activities and discussions. New members commit to a seasonal period (approximately 6 months), allowing time to settle in and build meaningful connections. Not ready for the commitment? Check out our Casual Writers Room.
Annual Intakes
We have two main intakes each year—February and August—where new members from the waitlist are invited to join. This ensures a dynamic and diverse group of participants and a close-knit community of writers.
Registration and Waitlist
Interested in joining? Currently, we offer groups focused on fiction, non-fiction, and poetry. However, we are open to branching out into other writing niches based on member interest. Register your interest anytime using the form below. We’ll reach out to match you with a suitable group. If all groups are full, we’ll continue to expand and add new programs.

What is the Casual Writer's Room?
Can’t wait to write and network with fellow writers? Then join us in our Casual Writers Room for the first Friday of every month!
Held at Harry Bailey Memorial Library, this informal space allows writers to gather, write, share ideas, and connect with others in a relaxed setting.
Come along, meet like-minded writers, and get inspired!
