Our Summer Reading Challenge was a huge success and we’d like to thank all the families and children who got involved and rose to the challenge of reading 10 books over the summer – some children even read 20 or 30 books! We couldn’t be more proud of everyone’s involvement– we had 90 registrations for the Summer Reading draw, which is a total of 900 books read over the summer – an amazing feat for our Coffs community!

Our Summer Reading Celebration took place at Coffs Harbour library on 24th January with local children’s author and illustrator Penelope Pratley who developed some special craft and art activities for this event. Over 16 children attended and we had eight lucky draw winners. They were:

  • Bella, 4 years old              her favourite book is “The rainbow Fish”
  • Mavis, 7 years old            her favourite book is “Little Red Riding Hood”
  • Rex, 8 years old                his favourite book is “Tim Flannery’s Deep Dive”
  • Darcy, 5 years old            her favourite book is “The Sugar Bag”
  • Amelie 4 years old           her favourite book is “The Christmasaurus”
  • Piper, 3 years old             her favourite book is all the books she read
  • Arlo, 9 years old               his favourite book is “Dark Stalker”
  • Amelia, 12 years old        her favourite book is “A girl called corpse”
