Our Spring holiday program was extra special this year thanks to funding from NSW Government Regional Youth –Holiday Break Program. The funding enabled us to deliver six creative workshops for youth 12-18 years old at our three branches and provide facilitation, resources, and lunch. The youth who attended said they were happy to make something they could take home and the new electronic sewing machine was very much in demand. It was great to see all the amazing bags made out of old t-shirts as well as the essential oil fragrance bags and natural lip balm.

We also ran a fun Scavenger Hunt and Shadow Play for children 5+, which was also very popular, especially with our new LEGO kits getting their first use. All attendees went into a draw to win four double passes to the Jetty Theatres children’s Show “Urza and the Song in the Dark”. Congratulations to the winners; Baljinder Bhullar, Katlin Floyd, Reneta Burns, Lilianna Galea.

Coffs Harbour libraries was able to purchase the LEGO kits and sewing machine, thanks to the National Backyard Cricket grant program. This is an inaugural charitable initiative by Batting for Change to raise funds to level the global playing field in education and aims to help and support people living in regional rural Australia.
