Select and Collect service
The temporary ‘Select and Collect’ service which has been in place since Monday 1 June, finished operating on Saturday, 27 June. 
 
We are delighted to confirm that all three Coffs Harbour City Council’s Libraries will reopen to the public on Monday, 29 June. We’re excited to welcome you back but it’s important to note that your library experience will be a little different than usual.
 
Altered Library Hours - Until Further Notice
 
  • Toormina and Woolgoolga Libraries - 10 am to 1pm, Monday to Friday
  • Harry Bailey Memorial Library - 10 am to 12 noon and 1pm to 5pm, Monday to Friday
  • All branches - 10 am to noon, Saturday
 
About Select and Collect
 
During our current phase of reopening, library members are able to reserve up to 10 items and then arrange a time to collect them from one of our three library branches. The “Select and Collect” service is a more limited re-introduction to services, but it allows access to the physical collections and time to put in place the requirements for opening the libraries to the public. Details on the next phase of re-opening are yet to be confirmed at this point in time.
 
Pick-up stations have social distancing and hygiene measures in place. We ask that customers not use the ‘Select and Collect’ service if they are feeling at all unwell. Access to the inside of all library buildings will remain closed for the time being.
 
How does Select and Collect work?
To access this service...
  1. Use the Library’s online catalogue to reserve item(s), or phone the library on 6648-4900 if you don’t have computer access.
  2. Await a library reservation notice for the item(s).
  3. Arrange a time to pick up your reserved item(s) before the "Collect by" date, as follows...
  4. If you have a mobile phone, ring the library from your vehicle once you've arrived at the pick-up branch. To maintain social distancing, please stay in your car until your books are ready for pick up, rather than waiting at the door.
  5. If you don’t have a mobile phone, you can phone the pick-up branch from home and book a pick-up time.
  6. The library staff will issue the reserved items to you, and place the items on a table outside the library.
  7. Please also bring your own bags or container to collect your reservations.

What safety measures are being used to handle library items?
In line with NSW Health protocols for infection control, all library items will be quarantined for 72 hours upon return and wiped down with disinfectant. Staff will wear gloves at all times when cleaning items. You can only collect your items from the door at the library at your scheduled time. All Select and Collect customers are required to observe social distancing protocols at all times.
Can I pick up items for someone else?
You can collect items for someone else as long as the pick up time is prebooked. 
I can't carry my items - can you put them in the car for me?
Unfortunately we cannot place items in your car. You will need to be able to collect them yourself from the table at the front of the Library.
 
I have notifications that the items I requested are available to pick up, how can I book a time to collect my items?
Once you have received a notification that your reserved item(s) are available, you can phone your library pick-up location to book a time to collect your items.
 
How long can I keep the items?
The loan periods for all items is 28 days.  However, heavily reserved items will have a reduced loan period of two weeks.
 
Can I renew my item(s)?
You can renew items once by either phone/email or via the My Account area of the online catalogue.

Can I become a member of Coffs Harbour Libraries?
You may join the library by registering online here. Membership of Coffs Harbour Library service is a free service to residents and ratepayers of CHCC, visitors to Coffs Harbour LGA or people who work in Coffs LGA who are residents from other NSW areas.
