Do you want to know what to do about your neighbour's barking dog, or are you having trouble with Strata Title? What about how to write a will?
Coffs Harbour City Library can provide you with information about these legal topics and many more through its comprehensive legal collection, which predominantly consists of the find legal answers collection.
Find Legal Answers is a free state-wide service based in public libraries and on the internet, which provides communities with access to a collection of easy-to-read, practical books, which answer everyday type questions about the law. These books are carefully selected and regularly updated by specialist librarians in the State Library of NSW.
Coffs Harbour Library also provides access to the Law Books for Libraries Collection, which is a more advanced collection of resources for the researcher or student.
Find legal answers has resources specifically for students who are doing HSC Legal Studies, including:
- Legal Studies Research Guide - Organised by topic area and lists key print and web based resources, as well as providing links to relevant legislation and key cases
- HSC Legal Studies News Watch blog - Keep up to date with changes to the law and legal issues in the news.
- Hot Topics - Legal issues in plain language. Four issues are published each year with all of them relevant to the HSC legal studies syllabus.
- LIAC Crime Library - Has over 50 case studies, with links to court decisions and media databases.
The Find Legal Answers website guides you through online information as well as showing you what is available in your local library.
Find Legal Answers can also help you find free legal advice services if you need to speak to a lawyer.
The find legal answers service is an initiative of the State Library of NSW and the Law Foundation of NSW, jointly funded by the State Library and the Public Purpose Fund.
