Join us for an interesting talk and PowerPoint presentation by Mike Rubbo author of "Travels with my art" and Emmy award winner for his documentary "Vincent and me"
It was the late 1980’s and Mike’s film career as a prize winning documentary filmmaker was going well. Deciding to try fiction, he writes a story about a young girl travelling back in the past to meet Vincent Van Gogh. As a prelude to this creative work Mike decided to paint the 30 Van Gogh copies required for the film. They turn out well although this is the first time he has explored his creative side in oils.
Mike will be selling copies of his book at the end of the evening. Although we are used to the idea of an author signing his work Mike has gone one step further and left a “window” at the back of each book where he places an original drawing along with his signature and dedication.
Mike is also currently designing a charity app called “We’re so lucky” which he will discuss as part of his talk.
